If you are enrolled in the Riverside Employee Medical Plan, you know that you get the best level of coverage by going to Riverside for your medical care. Going to a provider in the Riverside Medical Group (RMG) will assure that you are getting the highest level of coverage. Or go to www.UMR.com and Login (or register) to use the online searchable tool to find a provider.
All three Riverside medical plans use the same United Healthcare Choice Plus network. In that network, there are two levels, or tiers, to chose your providers: Tier 1 Riverside and other approved non-RMG providers; and Tier 2 UHC Choice Plus… both are ‘in-network’. By choosing Tier 1, you will pay a lower deductible and max out of pocket. Tier 2 gives you choices in the providers you utilize. However, if there is a service or speciality that is not available on our Tier 1 list, you can appeal to see a Tier 2 provider and have that covered at the Tier 1 level. It is important that you submit your appeal prior to services. You can speak to our medical plan broker, WFI, to start the appeal process (866-256-6660).
Last week you took the self-care assessment, and now it’s time to make a self-care plan! Why does a self-care plan matter? Customizing a self-care plan is a preventative measure to combat stress and increase resilience. We don’t know when the next wave of tough times will come, so if we are regularly engaging in self-care we are more likely to handle those tough times with less distress. Having a plan also takes the guesswork out of what to do in moments of stress- instead of wondering how you will cope or what you need, all you have to do is look at your plan and pick what you need in that moment. Having a plan helps you stay the course, build routines, and stay accountable. It’s easy for life to get in the way, and for self-care habits to fall by the wayside. Having a set plan makes it easier to stay on track!
Use the information you gathered from your self-care assessment last week to fill in your self-care plan.
September is Self-Care Awareness Month! In order to engage in self-care or understand the impact it has on our mental, emotional, physical well-being, we need to have an awareness of what kinds of self-care we are engaging in, how often, and the ways it brings well-being and value to our lives. Please fill out this self-care assessment, and stay tuned for self-care tips the rest of the month!
