Riverside’s Organizational Development & Learning Department moves to Hoover on 4/5/2022

Organizational Development & Learning (ODL or Educational Services) is moving to Riverside’s Hoover Building on 4/5/2022 and will re-open for service on 4/6/2022. There will no longer be Riverside staff at KCC’s North Extension Center in Bradley as of 4/4/2022.

    Where is ODL moving?
On 4/5, the Organizational Development and Learning (ODL) Department is closed to move to Riverside’s Hoover Building. The Hoover Building is located at 1905 West Court Street in Kankakee, IL. Our front door is the door facing Court Street. We plan to be fully re-opened on 4/6 at 8AM.

    Why is ODL moving?
To move closer to the customers we serve and to be back on the Riverside Campus. We are grateful for the wonderful support from KCC and all of Riverside since 2017 when we moved off-campus. Our new space will allow us to be more efficient—and provides additional meeting space for the entire health system.

What are the ODL Phone Numbers and Hours?
Primary hours are 8AM to 5PM. Our phone numbers, fax and extensions stay the same.

Please continue to send training documents (checklists, etc.) to olieeducation@rhc.net.

Where is the HeartCode CPR skills station?

The HeartCode CPR station continues to be accessible 24-7 in B307 at Riverside Medical Center on the 3rd floor—south of the Room of Magic at the hallway intersection with the D Elevators. B307 is also our satellite office at RMC. We also have a HeartCode station at the Hoover Building.

How do I reserve a projection screen, AV equipment, HeartCode station, or CPR manikins?

Same as before–call or email ODL. You will need to plan for pick up and return of equipment.

How do I reserve a room for use in ODL at Hoover?

Call ext. 22702, or 815-935-3276, or email olieeducation@rhc.net. If you need access to complete online training, please call ahead to reserve a computer for your use.

The Summer 2022 Certified Nursing Assistant Apprenticeship is an 8 week, competency-based program in which students attend classes at Kankakee Community College and complete hands-on clinical experiences 4, 8 hour days per week for Monday through Thursday (32 hours per week classroom/clinical time). What happens when I finish the program?

Upon successful completion of the program’s coursework and meeting State of Illinois requirements including passing the NATCEP exam, participants become a registered State of Illinois C.N.A.

    When does the program start?

Orientation for the summer session is 5/9 and classes/clinicals are 6/6 to 8/1.

    What do CNAs do?

Certified Nursing Assistants (CNA) are very important members of our Riverside healthcare team. Becoming a C.N.A. is often the first step in someone becoming a nurse.  C.N.A.s are responsible for helping the entire clinical team and patients too. The compassion and skill of a C.N.A. in giving patient care helps reduce stress for those who are sick and unable to care for themselves. We employ C.N.A.s in the hospital and in our senior life areas. Being a C.N.A. is hard work—and very rewarding.  It is a wonderful opportunity to make a meaningful difference in a patient’s life.

Can I apply for the fall semester?

Yes, if interested in the fall semester (starts end of August 2022), please complete this application and note that you are interested in the fall. Return applications to Riverside’s ODL Department (email olieeducation@rhc.net).
