Monthly Starfish Nominee Update!
Our fellow Riverside Team Members continue to Make A Difference each and every day!
Our Starfish Award was created to recognize our Ancillary Team Members across all sites in the organization for taking a moment to Make A Difference to a patient, family member, community member, fellow colleague, or provider.
In the past month, the following departments had submitted nominations:
Chaplain
Lab
Tele
Security
Security
Diabetes dietician
Rmg peds
Reception and lab tech
Outpatient Lab
Dr Jonas office
Cardiac and Neuro Diagnostics
Dietary (Central Waiting Coffee Shop)
A winner is selected once every three months.
All nominees will be identified in The Connection and honored by their leaders with a Starfish Pin within the week following the Award winner ceremony.

Riverside hosted the Kankakee County Out of the Darkness Walk at the Bourbonnais Campus on Saturday, September 30th. Thank you to everyone who came out to support this important cause.
During a recent Leadership Council meeting, Phil Kambic, Riverside president & CEO, recognized several of the Riverside directors who had been tasked with finding ways AI could be incorporated into their departments. The directors were:
Kyle Hansen, the director over information technology services, oversaw the challenge, which included finding AI resources that would benefit their department and ultimately, patient care.
Melissa Burke’s submission, the Cellavision program is designed to assist in the lab in the analysis and classification of blood cells and other hematological specimens, was the winner. This technology was added to the 2024 budget and will be added to the lab.
