United Way: One, two three… kick off! Join us, Riverside Employees!
The 2020 United Way campaign to help our neighbors, friends, and families live their best possible lives has kicked off! With your support, the United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties strengthens our entire community and positions us for a better tomorrow.
When you support the United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties, you join the fight for:
- The health of our community. United Way makes it easier for individuals to afford medical prescriptions, receive quality mental health services, and access nutritious foods. Together, we’re fighting to help everyone get – and stay – healthy. Recently, United Way helped provide 3,000 meals each week to households negatively impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic and helped nearly 1,000 households access mental health supports during the months of April and May.
- The chance to succeed for more kids. From cradle to career, United Way helps ensure every child gets a strong start in life, teenagers have the tools to learn and grow, and young adults thrive in the job market. With over 40 partners committed to the Success By 6 Coalition, United Way celebrated many large wins over the last year including a $2.1 million grant to address childhood trauma and resources for families in Kankakee County and early childhood professional development training for over 100 local practitioners.
- A path toward financial stability for everyone. United Way supports access to services, job training, and money management programs that help make financial stability easier. Through the Strong Neighborhoods Initiative, United Way uses place-based strategies to foster equity, inclusion and sustainable community development. United Way has launched this new initiative in two priority neighborhoods in 2020 with opportunities for further expansion.
Help your community and make a gift to United Way today! When you give to United Way of Kankakee and Iroquois Counties, you make it possible to change lives in our community and strengthen our region overall.
